Classical Hermeticism

The original Hermeticism of the 2nd-4th centuries CE was an outgrowth of the interaction between the ancient Egyptian and classical Greek cultures. Hermes Trismegistos, part-Hermes, part-Thoth, spanned the human and divine worlds, bestowed writing upon humanity, and brought down the perfection of celestial wisdom to Earth, thus providing inspiration not only for the Greco-Roman world, but the later seekers of Islam and the Renaissance as well.
