Sufism transcends all boundaries and concepts. While it is undoubtedly a current of Islamic mysticism, at the same time it can be seen as perhaps the fullest expression of the fellowship of “lovers of wisdom” in the Pythagorean sense. The breadth and depth of Sufi devotion is only matched by its endless philosophical ingenuity and insight. This class will attempt to glimpse a few of the infinite facets of the Sufi Way and its relationship to its Greek and Egyptian predecessors.
